James Douglas Stoddart Douglas : ウィキペディア英語版 | James Douglas Stoddart Douglas James Douglas Stoddart Douglas was a British Liberal Party politician. He was elected at the 1841 general election as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the borough of Rochester, but was defeated at the 1847 general election. James Douglas Stoddart Douglas of Baads was born in 1793. He was the son of George Alexander Stoddart and unknown Bridges. He married, firstly, Margaret Braziere Douglas, daughter of George Douglas, in 1830. He married, secondly, Jane Sarah Jenkin, daughter of James Jenkin, in 1875. Margaret and her father, George, were both adopted.〔(The Douglas Archives )〕 He served in the Royal Navy, promoted to Lieutenant in 1815 on the Doris, 36, under Capt Robert O'Brien, then on the East India station.
